Here is a project I did with a FIT group of "high flyers". Each chose a subject to research and find three facts on. Each of their sources had to be documented and cited. They then had to do an image search for each of these facts and compile all into a word template I built for them. Here is one of the final products prior to binding.

U.S. Regions resource creation
As part of the second grade geography unit we found the materials lacking in in a single resource that addressed all we wanted to cover. As a student teacher, and former drone in the marketing and advertising world, I was excited about the opportunity to develop something in collaboration with the team that would be useful. Below you will find a sample of our efforts.
This, along with supplemental materials we were able to incorporate the practice and assessment of writing constructed response as well as familiarize students with an array of vocabulary related to landforms and weather.

Nick Johnson on weather
To kick off our unit on U.S. regions we invited guest Nick Johnson, meteorologist from Fox 44, to talk to us about weather, clouds, and tornadoes. The students had many questions and we learned a lot! Each morning we tried to identify the types of clouds in the sky and discuss words to describe the current weather.
